Repair Contract

In the face of a national increase in fraudulent customer claims Home and Business Computing Ltd. ("The Company") has taken steps to keep our prices down. To do so The Company imposes the following terms and conditions on any repair undertaken on your behalf ("The Customer"). Asking the company to repair any item means you accept this contract.

1. The Company will only do the work on its job sheet as signed by the customer. Any other items are excluded. The Company does not guarantee that it can successfully complete the work only that it will attempt to do so with reasonable skill and care within the limits of its ability and/or other reasonable constraints.

2. The Company reserves the right to amend its estimates or decline to continue work depending on the outcome of its initial tests.

3. Due to the nature of repair work The Company can not be responsible for the safety of The Customer's data. The Customer should maintain adequate backups of their data at a separate site. 4. The Company will make its own list of the contents of the customer's computer system before any work takes place and that list shall be legally binding upon the customer. No correspondence on this matter will be entered into.

5. The Company may also test the state of the contents on that list and the results of such tests shall be legally binding upon the customer. No correspondence on this matter will be entered into.

6. The Company may also test the state of the Operating System and resulting opinion shall be legally binding upon the customer. No correspondence on this matter will be entered into.

7. The Customer shall be liable for at least the minimum fee regardless of the outcome of the testing and/or repair procedure.

8. Any warranty provided is on hardware supplied by The Company alone and that only for defects in manufacture. The warranty is void if the system has been interfered with in any way. Software is specifically excluded from any warranty, as it is impossible to prevent The Customer adjusting its settings and installation. As the correct functioning of hardware is dependent on correct software installation any problems with the function of the installed hardware resulting from software problems is again specifically excluded from any warranty.

9. Where the repair is successful the Customer will be allowed to inspect the operation of the system and shall sign to show that the system has been repaired to their satisfaction. Where repair is unsuccessful or advised to be uneconomic the Customer shall sign for collection of the system in its un-repaired condition.

10. The above items are supplemental to the standard terms and conditions of sale on display in the company premises. Written details are available on request.
